Why Should Channel Community Beg For Basic Rights?

Channel Community

-Balakrishnan Chinnusamy

Today is a time when the channel community is scattered and is more unorganized than ever. Even though most of the things are out of our control, I will discuss two of those which are in our hands and can bring in tremendous change in the fraternity, integrity and managing the time.

The sad situation in the IT hardware industry is that the partners do not know their basic rights.
Even when we have full rights to question, we think it is inappropriate to do so and we raise it in a polite way. I term it, we beg for our own personal rights. Where does this thought come from?

The need for any individual in channel industry is three things – Livelihood, economic appreciation and secured future. It is high-time that we the channel partners, through our associations stood united and focused on the above-said things.

In today’s scenario, every industry has forums. We have various social forums and other clubs for entertainment, recreation and you name it any. However, an industry association’s key objective must be to protect the welfare of the stakeholders.

If we want our basic rights to be, we should be united, and to achieve this participation is the key element. I have seen in many places meetings are organized where few people consider it as their organization/family meet, while others think it is an event of someone else. We should take responsibility and even though everyone cannot get on to the field, the support should be shown in participation and have a healthy argument that helps the industry grow further.

By telling this I also want to remind you that we can achieve things only by setting timelines. Split your long-term goals into pieces and have deadlines to accomplish it. Even though there are many topics to discuss, I think integrity and timeliness are two most factors partners and associations should adopt.
