Adobe Opens 2nd R&D Center in India

__p As part of its global business strategy, Adobe Systems has announced the opening of its second R&D campus at Noida (India). Built with revenue of $8 million, this campus has the capacity for 450 employees.

p____p An extension of its first research center, construction of the edifice began in early 2004, and will add up an area of 1 lakh sq. ft. to the existing campus.

p____p Adobe established its first facility at Noida in October
2002, which has a housing capacity of 400 employees. The company has such facilities in San Jose, Hamburg and Ottawa (Canada).

p____p Shantanu Narayen, president and COO, Adobe Systems, said, “Investing on expansion in India is a tangible reinforcement of Adobe’s commitment to invest in innovation. Also it will contribute significantly to Adobe’s future growth and progress.”

p____p The vendor has registered 29 percent growth in revenue terms during fiscal 2004 and profits grew by 56 percent.

p____p Underlining Indian talent, Naresh Chand Gupta, managing
director, Adobe Systems India, said, “The world-class principles that are exhibited at the core of India’s research community has prompted Adobe to pioneer and launch innovative software technology in the world.” He also added, “With India fast emerging as the central hub for technology development worldwide, the India facility has been ranked as the third largest center with 50 million dollar grants approved.”

p____p Talking about the technology acquisition and mergers, Gupta said the real-time phenomenon is that the company kept its cards undisclosed. p__
