Channel Partners Can Bring Visibility Into Cyber Risks

Channel Partners

The constant rise in cyber-crime speaks volumes about how they are no less gruesome than physical crime. Cyber-attacks are growing on a global scale – with the threat scenario becoming more sophisticated and complex. Enterprises are struggling to ramp up IT security solutions to keep their assets safe, even then cyber-crime is rising in volume and tackiness. Channel partners can come to rescue of the businesses, as they have the industry knowledge and offer the best suited solutions to the enterprises as they are not always sure what they want and need.

74 percent of organizations acknowledge they are not well prepared to beat IT risks, according to visibility and governance platform for hybrid cloud security provider Netwrix Corporation.

The report is based on a survey of 723 respondents from organizations operating in various industries around the globe. The feedback was collected between March 15 and April 15, 2017. The report summarizes experiences, perceptions and plans the organizations have in regard to their IT risk strategy.

The survey’s key findings are:
• The majority of organizations (89percent) use only basic IT security solutions.
• 65percent of organizations do not have dedicated personnel responsible for cyber security. 56percent of organizations subject to compliance delegate this task to their IT operations teams.
• 66percent of organizations perceive employees as the biggest threat to system availability and security, but only 36percent of organizations say they are fully aware of employees’ actions.
• 65percent of respondents admitted to having security incidents in 2016; the most common reasons cited were malware and human errors.
• 74percent of organizations acknowledge they are not well prepared to beat IT risks, with the main obstacles being lack of budget (57percent) and lack of time (54percent).

“Organizations understand very well the need to focus significant effort on protecting the smooth operation of their businesses. While they see their own users as the main threat, they haven’t yet gained visibility into user activity in business critical systems and manipulations of sensitive data,” said Michael Fimin, CEO and co-founder of Netwrix.

Channel partners can thus come to close this loop of invisibility and offer solutions to bring up visibility into cyber risks and offer solutions for data protection and risk management.
