Spirent Rolls Out Comprehensive SaaS Solution

Spirent Communications has announced the launch of a new platform that allows companies to manage all their testing needs from anywhere, using any device. Spirent Temeva, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for network and cloud testing, offers three web-based applications covering everything, from network traffic testing and network functions virtualization (NFV) infrastructure benchmarking, to cloud performance and capacity planning.

Temeva solves a number of challenges businesses face today, when selecting testing tools to validate next-generation network and virtualized infrastructures. Users have to manage multiple vendors’ software and licensing schemes and the resulting mix of applications becomes cumbersome and expensive to access, share, and maintain. Often test results are disjointed, making it difficult to identify trends and correlations.

The new Temeva platform provides companies with a browser-based platform to tackle these challenges. It automatically stores all test configurations, data, and reports in a secure repository. This repository can be conveniently accessed from anywhere, with any device through a web-based portal, where test metrics can be transformed into analyses and scored. Temeva features an intuitive dashboard that inventories all purchased applications and licenses so administrators can easily manage usage and make intelligent future purchasing decisions.

Test reports are scored with Pass or Fail grades providing network answers in a matter of minutes to identify the root cause of network problems and validate your Service-Level Agreements (SLAs).

Using the Temeva delivery platform, Spirent introduces targeted applications on a subscription basis while continuous updates are pushed in real-time and made available to users without delay.

The first three test applications available in Temeva are:

Spirent TrafficCenter: a web-based network testing application to test and validate network connectivity, design, and traffic flow. TrafficCenter application features include Layer 2 and Layer 3 traffic generation, drag-and-drop traffic flows and mixes, health indicators, enhanced live results, and comprehensive test reports.

Spirent MethodologyCenter: a methodology-driven application features standardized test scenarios for NFV infrastructure, Virtual Network Function (VNF), and network benchmarking.

Spirent CloudStress: an infrastructure benchmarking application designed for performance and capacity planning for Compute, Memory, Storage and Network I/O that features dynamic workloads to validate Cloud and Virtualized infrastructure.

“Businesses have enough challenges when integrating modern cloud and network infrastructure into their environments. They shouldn’t have to deal with these challenges when testing and validating it,” said Abhitesh Kastuar, general manager of Spirent Communications. “Temeva addresses these pain points and delivers a single, unified, SaaS platform to enable businesses easy access and management of all the applications and methodologies they need for measuring the performance and scale of their networks and clouds.”
