Tata Liebert Renamed Emerson Power Network

Emerson

__p Tata Liebert, a leading manufacturer of uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems and precision air conditioning (PAC) systems, has been renamed Emerson Power Network India.

p____p Tata Liebert was a joint venture between the Tata Power Corporation and Liebert Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emerson Electric USA. However, after seeing the potential of the Indian UPS market, Emerson had bought out 50 per cent of the Tata stake earlier in September this year for Rs 76 crore.

p____p “After seeing the huge potential in the UPS market, Emerson Electric decided to strengthen its presence in the Indian market,” said Harshesh Malhotra, divisional manager, Emerson Power Network.

p____p Emerson made its presence in the Indian market in 1983 with a 10-year technical transfer agreement with Nelco. After completion of the term, Emerson bought a 50 percent stake from Nelco, and was named Tata Liebert for strategic gain.

p____p The company introduced a large range of UPS systems from 250 kva to 4800 kva. With a range of software options these products are available in off-line, line-interactive and on line technologies. Tata Liebert also marketed Liebert range of equipment for specific requirements of software export houses and other software technology parks.

p____p “We have not changed the brand names. Our Liebert brands will still continue to exist by the same name. At the same time, Emerson Power Network has designed two products in DC power and transfer switches which will be unveiled soon. However, our first priority is strengthening our market position by roping in more business partners, especially in the below-20kva range within the year,” Malhotra said.
