Mumbai, July 17: Global networking company Extreme Networks is having handful partners selected based on merits.
The OEM is very clear not to expand the channel or distribution base as the existing network suits best for their business.
The company’s promise for their channel partners in this financial year are- exclusive products, profitability and attractive schemes.
In an exclusive interaction with ‘Channel Times’, Mohamed Asiq, Regional Director, India & SAARC, Extreme Networks, said, “Our business is completely indirect and we fulfil the orders only through our partners. Even if it is a small business, our entire team gets on field and ensures the partner wins the deal.”
Asiq said that currently the company has around 15 partners across the country to offer end-to-end solutions. It is only into the B2B segments right from a SMB till a large PSU business.
“We are known for our rebate programs and training. We have allotted funds (EDF-Extreme development fund) for our channel partners to conduct training meetings for the CIOs in their region and we also have trained 40 resources working in the organizations of the channel partners”, Asiq noted further adding that Extreme is planning to train 150 students by this financial year.
The company is also planning to conduct multi-city roadshows and regional events across the country. The system integrators and distributors take care of the business in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Extreme Networks says it has already engaged with a company for smart cities project.
On the impact of IoT in India, Asiq says that the company’s mission statement in 1996 had the quote ‘Ethernet everywhere’ has become a reality. “The same implies for IoT also. I read a news piece that army professionals have got a chip installed in their foot. This is a hidden meaning that we are already on the path of IoT. We have to wait for the adoption and adaption on the IoT in India.”
