Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) team will promote its flagship program ‘Digithon-Digital Village’ initiative in the United States. Digithon delegation headed by TITA president Sundeep Kumar Makthala will be traveling to US in the first week of July to promote Digital Telangana campaign.
“It all started on 17th December 2015, with TITA taking up a unique initiative to adopt a village under the digital literacy program designed as per National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM). This initiative spearheaded by TITA made Basar village in Adilabad district. Basar is the first 100 percent digitally literate village in Telangana. TITA has adopted Narsingapur, Nizamabad district and Ghatuppal, Nalgonda as its next destinations to make digital villages and completed the digital program successfully”, said Makthala.
These historic events brought the highest accolades to Telangana Information Technology Association (TITA) from union minister of Communications and Information Technology of India. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad appreciated TITA for its initiative. Digithon team also received the Telangana state government award for 2015-16 for its digital literacy programs.
Digithon team has decided to promote the Digithon Digital village initiative to NRI’s requesting them to adopt a digital village. Digithon session is scheduled in American Telugu Association (ATA) on the occasion of its silver jubilee conference in Rosemont, IL, Chicago on 2nd July 2016.
TITA President Sundeep Kumar Makthala has appealed NRI’s to be sponsor for their own village and join hands in making Telangana state as 100 percent digitally literate state.
