All Kerala IT Dealers Association, AKITDA has recently concluded GST awareness sessions in some parts of the state and is planning to organize various events throughout the state.
P.G Suresh, President, AKITDA told Channel Times, “The seminars on GST awareness sessions are conducted in few districts and we aim to complete all the districts by the end of July 10.” Suresh also added that the members are confused with the initial days of GST. “Not much stock movements are happening and with different versions of the GST, the members are in the wait-and-watch mode,” he said.
The initiative by the association so far has received positive response in Kerala and the aim is to cover as many districts in the state as possible. The events/seminars will take place parallelly with the implementation of GST. Suresh also says that the movement of stocks between the sub-distributors and the dealers are only on order-to-order basis.
“Even when I ask for more stocks I am puzzled if the big sub-distributors will have that in hand. We also welcome FAIITA’s representation for flat rate for IT products as products like printers which if charged 28% will definitely impact the traditional retailers,” he further added.
According to the president of the association, the executive body has been organizing GST seminars so far within the association only but now it is doing the same in all districts of Kerala which is really a positive initiative by the association and hopes to spread awareness on the same agenda.
Last month the Kerala association celebrated World Environment Day with the State’s Government in an event where the prime focus was to concentrate on e-waste management and plastic management, where the association also proposed a plan of establishing a management plant in Kerala and requested the government to provide assistance in the whole process by providing land for the same.
