AWS Certifies Its Cloud Migration Partners

Under the new programe named, competency, AWS partners who possess comprehensive experience in helping businesses switch to AWS cloud services via all phases of migration projects, planning, discovery and operations will gain an edge over the company’s existing partners.

As per Jeff Barr, chief evangelist at AWS, Competency partners have reflected unprecedented technical efficiency and customer success in cloud migration process. The company has already certified 17 partners as migration delivery partners with six others as migration consulting partners.

As per AWS, migration delivery partners generally enjoy close ties with the company’s managed service providers which offer ongoing support. ”Another nine partners have been certified for their migration technology, while some partners have received the company’s certification in more than one category,” said AWS.

The company is already offering Professional Services Cloud Adoption Framework and also rolled out its Database Migration Service last year in October to help enterprises move their databases to AWS servers.

“More and more, I hear from customers who want to migrate large-scale workloads to AWS, and seek advice regarding their cloud migration strategy,” says AWS Chief Evangelist Jeff Barr.

AWS at present owns about 30 per cent of the cloud infrastructure market and is now eyeing enterprises which are seeking extensive guidance and advice to move to cloud based services, to further inflate its market share.

The company also announced a strategic partnership with network gear maker, Ericsson in February to bolster the cloud migration of telecom operators via setting up cloud innovation centers.
