Kottayam: V. Hari who owns IBC computers, a patriotic young channel partner wanted to provide digital drive for the financially backward youth had come-up with a digital literacy terminal in his home village.
The idea hit Hari when he wanted to contribute to this nation’s digital drive to the maximum effort that is affordable by him. Thus the idea of free digital literacy terminal has come up in his office in Kottayam Central Junction.
Speaking to Channel Times, Hari says, “As a committed social being, I was thinking on helping the society, especially for the financially backward youths, this Independence day. It suddenly sparked my mind, an idea which suits and supports both the growth of such a category and evolving digital India.”
The idea was to make his infrastructure and effort useful to public at zero cost. “I created a free wifi-zone and designed and installed a free digital literacy terminal in the name Freedom Pad, meant for empowering deserving, growing young minds.”
Through this, students can access internet using this terminal from 9.30 AM to 6.30 PM free of cost and can achieve digital literacy skills.
The Kottayam partner is planning to market the initiative across the region and is looking for a huge response. Hari, in the days ahead, is planning to offer a free digital hub with secure digital communication and transactions.
Hari is also seeking the help of vendors to join hands in such an initiative. Interested vendors can contact Hari at 9745107911 or even mail at ibcit@ymail.com.
