HP opens Indigo Digital Press Demo Center

HP and its master distributor Redington India announced the opening of the Indigo Digital Press Demo Center in Chennai at an investment of approximately Rs 3.5 crore. According to the company, this center will be focusing on providing pre-sales know-how and a better understanding of the Indigo Digital Press for customers in the country.

HP said that the investment in the demo center, along with a Indigo Ink Plant and Indigo Training Center in Singapore, was a result of it foreseeing growth opportunity in Asia Pacific.

“The establishment of the HP Indigo Digital Press Demo Centre demonstrates HP s commitment to its customers in the graphic arts and digital publishing industry in India and will be the fifth such center for HP, with two in the United States, one in Singapore and one in Europe,” said Steve Donegal, Business Manager Asia Pacific for Indigo Digital Press.

According to HP, the demo center is targeted at users who are new to the Indigo family of digital offset printing presses. The demo center will enable customers to test there own files, on substrates that they currently use in their offset process, mix pantone spot colours on the ink mixing station to address there client needs of maintaining there brand.

HP will be providing a two-week operator training post-installation of machines at customer sites in India.

“The center will not only give the user a hands-on touch and feel experience of the products but also enhance the technical knowledge of users, enabling them to make the most out of their HP Indigo Presses,” Donegal said.

With an area of 3000 square feet, the demo center currently houses two HP Indigo Presses the HP Indigo press 1050 and the HP Indigo press 3050. There is also an ink mixing station (IMS) at the center.

The following partners have been identified to showcase the technologies at the center to customers: Redington India, Chennai; USAM Technology Solutions, Chennai; Kruthi Computers Services, Bangalore; Astral Informatics, Nagpur/Hyderabad; Media Infotech, Mumbai; Amont Software and Equipment, Delhi; and Rishi Graphics, Kolkata.
