Trend Micro has announced its channel plans and strategy for 2019 in India. As part of that, the company has introduced the new managed service provider (MSP) program in India, to further accelerate and transform its partners’ business by providing more recurring revenue opportunities with endpoint, data center, mobile, email, and cloud solutions that deliver the best protection for its customers.
Trend Micro works with nearly 300 active partners in India, out of which five are platinum partners and 10 are gold. All the focused partners have demonstrated a growth more than 100%; some of them are witnessing a robust threefold growth year-over-year (YOY).
Tom Cheeran, head of channel business, Trend Micro, India, said: “We have 25 focused channel partners in India who contribute significantly to our revenue. With a focus of building a robust channel ecosystem, we are in the process of signing up MSP partners in 2019 who will offer services to our customers and take complete ownership of our product and service implementation. This provides an opportunity for partners to build a better profitability and invest in Trend Micro.”
Sharing an update on the channel initiatives, he further added, “A good amount of rebate is already being disbursed to channel representatives who have registered to our TrendSetter Channel Rewards program. It is highly beneficial for the resellers, as it helps them grow their business with us. With continuous effort in developing the channel partners across the country, we are in the process of finalizing more channel initiatives to excite the channel community.”
In 2018, Trend Micro moved to a focused partner approach and signed up with industry-leading channel partners. The objective of the focused partner approach is that partners who contribute to Trend Micro’s business will equally benefit from the company’s success. Trend Micro also incubated a few partners into the system who grew up in its culture and were instrumental in helping to build business pipeline.
Trend Micro in India is present in all the major verticals, including telecom, banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing, IT/ITES and healthcare. With substantial presence in the BFSI sector, the company has also entered the product line of large enterprises. The focus areas for the company in India this year include Apex One for advanced endpoint security, hybrid cloud security and network defense.
