When Actions Speak Louder Than Words

actions

The wait is over and the results are in. And the winner is probably as surprised at the results, as the loser. Nobody expected the Congress to win. The opinion polls didn’t predict it nor did the general public. On the surface everybody seem to have bought into the India Shining campaign of the BJP. But at the end of the day, India didn’t shine back on the saffron brigade.

p____p In retrospect, analysts say that the ruling party did not concentrate on its core vote bank– the Indian who lives in the village. With over three-fourth of India still living in villages this is probably a gross miscalculation on the part of the think-tank. But the truth is that nobody can stop change. When people decided that they need a change they go ahead and do so. No marketing campaign however, glamorous, savvy or appealing it might seem, can replace good work. It can highlight the work done, it cannot compensate for it.

p____p The lesson here to learn is simple-ignore your key customer/client and you will be replaced. Nobody is indispensable. Especially in a scenario where you have five others competing for the same business. Let your actions speak louder than words.

p____p The glamour and glitz that marketing provides can help your business to grow, it cannot be the foundation on which the business stands. Customers are getting smarter, they can read between the lines and know when they are being taken for ride. Diligence and hardwork are no more values to be preached to children, they have become part of the corporate world.

p____p Offer the right service even at premium price and no customer will bargain you down. But offer empty promises and mediocre services, and you can be sure that you have lost that customer forever.
