Puducherry: The Pondicherry Traders Federation [PTF], including the members of the Puducherry IT Association [ITTA-PDY] recently met Haribhai Parthbhai Chaudhary, the Minister of state for MSME, to discuss issues such as demonetization, cashless transaction, GST, Swatch Bharat and Digitalization.
The PTF was already supporting the government in Swatch Bharat mission and GST awareness programs and assured that it will continue to work on all of these areas, offering training and sensitization campaigns in the coming months.
During the meeting, the association leaders brought up the various trade related issues to the Minister seeking support so as to carry out smooth trade and digital transaction within the Union Territory. Some of them discussed about the various issues that are faced by industries in Pondicherry.
IT Association president, D Soundara Pandian, Secretary- Sabarinathan and a former president Aravindan) honoured the Minister by and introduced the IT association and its activities in Puducherry.
As assured by the newly-formed team, the association has been conducting regular activities to establish an amicable business relationship across the UT. The PTF, comprising 55 unions from all the four regions of the UT, earlier urged the government to constitute a welfare board for traders and enact a legislation for regulating loading and unloading operations in the UT.
Highlighting other activities, Soundara Pandian said that the association has conducted an event for promoting swimming as a sport for the kids of the members.
“Every year ITTA-P conducts family meeting too where all members’ family gather in a resort or a plush hotel and celebrate. Program such as children games, competition and members’ spouces games to name a few are part of the family event.
This swimming has been exclusively organized for children during summer and this event ended happily as a family meeting,” he said.
