The India International Innovation Fair 2016, the first of its kind in India, will begin from 9th to 11th September,2016 at BIEC, Bangalore. Organized by the Indian Innovators Association and supported by the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA), a Geneva based body. The Department of science and technology, GOI has also extended their support. 25 member countries of IFIA will be participating at IIIF 2016.
Bangalore, the ‘Silicon valley of India’, has emerged as the tech capital and innovation hub of India, is rated among the top 10 cities in the world for start-ups, the city is home to over fifty fortune 500 companies. The city hosts diverse industries spanning machine tools, electronics, defence, aeronautics, garments, medical, bio-tech and a host of research institutes, both national and International. Bangalore is a global economic hub with a vast pool of highly skilled professionals and will thus be an exemplary test market and an ideal host for the India International Innovation Fair 2016.
“The various platforms at IIIF include, ‘GIPX for Innovative products’, for manufacturers to connect personally with their consumers. There will also be a site for live demos and presentations, touch-n-feel new products and innovations. ‘i2BOX for innovative ideas’ is a platform where innovators from different walks of life will exhibit their innovative products and ideas. It is a place for innovators to connect with potential venture capitalists, manufactures , industry associations and establish a license or sales agreement.
i2BOX will have innovations from five categories like International, Government aided, Students, Grass root and start ups and the best two innovations from each of the category will be rewarded. ‘SUS for innovative start ups’ will be a launch pad for start-ups and a platform for those that have just started out, be it online or offline” said Venkatesh .K. “There will also be ‘100 Open Startups, which is a network sponsored by global leading organizations that together evaluate and rank start-ups worldwide.
