Digital imaging company Canon India has announced the appointment of Eddie Udagawa as the new Vice President of the company, further strengthening its senior leadership team. Udagawa in his new capacity, will be leading the Consumer Imaging and Information Centre (CII) division.
The Consumer Imaging and Information Centre (CII) embraces both Consumer Systems Products (CSP) for laser and inkjet printers and Image Communication Products (ICP) for camera products. The CSP division offers printers for consumers as well as enterprise across different verticals. And, the ICP division mainly works around the sale and positioning of DSLR cameras & lenses, high functionality compact cameras and professional video cameras.
As the Head of the CII division, Udagawa will be responsible for the supervision and development of the Canon Imaging Communications Products (ICP) business and Consumer System Products (CSP) business in India. He undertakes the position with the vision to escalate the market share and strategize growth plans to take Canon India to new heights.
Laying special emphasizes on delivering “Customer Value” through the comprehensive range of CII products & services, Udagawa is focusing and working towards driving growth, market share and profitability for the CII products.
Associated with Canon for over 31 years now, he has worked closely with various overseas markets for Canon namely the USA, Hong Kong, Singapore and China, since 1995. Prior to CII, he was the Senior Director for PSD (Printing & Scanning Devices) business in Canon China, responsible for Business Planning & Marketing of the product and services actively involved in driving Canon’s leadership. In addition to this, he was overseeing the PSD business for Canon Asia as AHQ (Asia Head Quarter) role.
With a prior experience in CII space, as the General Manager for Regional CII Singapore business, he played a significant role overlooking some parts of the India business from the Regional Head Quarter standpoint. Possessing insights of the Indian Market, he plans to escalate the CII business to new heights. He brings with him a deep insight of sales and marketing approaches which will play an intrinsic part in formulating future marketing strategies in line with the company’s vision.
He holds a Bachelor degree in English Literature from Waseda University, Japan. In his leisure time, he enjoys golfing and travelling. An enthusiastic sports follower, he follows many sports club. Besides, he is also profoundly interested in exploring cuisines especially sweets.
His predecessor, Andrew Koh will be taking over the Malaysian market as the President and CEO, Canon Malaysia. He has spent valuable 4 years in India to strengthen the CII business unit.
