The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA), the premium association of the city is planning for ‘Subcon’ SMB event to replicate the success of the previous years. Titled ‘Small is Big’, this event is likely to host eminent leaders from the manufacturing industry and will discuss and empower the SMB sector to take its rightful place as the Growth Engine of the Indian Economy. The city forum claims to have inaugurated this event to encourage manufacturing in and around Coimbatore, SUBCON is one such effort.
“On the size of the organization, we will be having all large scale enterprises (25 per cent), medium scale enterprises (40 per cent) and small scale enterprises (35 per cent). We are also likely to expect that in more than half of the visiting organizations from various sectors, it is the Chairman or Managing Director who will be present in the event,” said D K Karthikeyan, Director (Projects), SMB Secretariat of the organizers while speaking about the event organized by SUBCON, CODDISSIA and Texas ventures.
The event will also have a panel discussion on ‘Small to Big – Proven Growth Methodologies from Successful Entrepreneurs’. The panel will discuss the current SMB scenario in Coimbatore and the way forward for a sustainable inclusive growth. “It is a rare occasion to interact and learn from veteran industry leaders – how they have raised their manufacturing company from a SMB to a LSB,” commented Karthikeyan. He further added that the discussion will also explore their dedication, strategies, quality concerns, export issues and various other problems they have faced to achieve this. He also urged the participants to incorporate their suggestions into their business which can help transform a SMB company to the next level.
Some of the highlights of the events this year are 250 CEO’s as delegates exclusively from the manufacturing industry, one-to-one interaction with industry leaders and international content and talks from eminent personality from the manufacturing industry.
The association has already started vigorous promotion of the event through publishing advertisements in all leading main stream news papers and B2B magazines and sending the electronic mailers to more than one lakh contacts. More than 5000 manufacturers are likely to receive the invitation personally.
