Almost a year on since Hewlett-Packard acquired Compaq Computers, the merger has been a beneficial proposition both for the vendor as well as its channel partners.
p____p HP premium channel partners are quite satisfied with the smooth and transparent working of the vendor with its business partners and say the merger has been a win-win deal for all.
p____p Anil Sachdeva, director, Kadam Marketing, Delhi said, “After a year of the merger, I can proudly say we have had no hiccups in being associated with the vendor as its premium partner.
p____p Prior to the merger, Kadam Marketing was partner for both Compaq and HP.
p____p Sachdeva said, “Post-merger there has been better support to its partners and more manpower from HP to handle backend. We have till date not faced any major issues with the vendor and the dealings have been smooth and transparent.
p____p “In fact, the merger has proved advantageous for the Compaq business partners, since earlier Compaq had a very weak system. Their backend wasnt strong at all. Now we face no such hassles, added Sachdeva.
p____p HP channel partners said, one good thing about the merger is that exclusive HP premium partners now have access to a range of Compaq products. However, there are others who feel HP still has a long way to go to prove the strategic value of the deal.
p____p Vikas Mehra, proprietor, Y2K, said, “Since both the companies had different working patterns and business values, it will take some time before they are able to have a hundred percent smooth and transparent working scenario with its partners.
p____p Be that as it may, HP has registered a robust growth rate post-merger. Prasenjit Sarkar, channel heads, HP, said, We have met our targets post-merger and seen a growth in our channel partners. In the first three months itself we saw around 130 percent growth in the numbers of our partners.
