Trend Micro, a Tokyo-based provider of network antivirus and Internet content security solutions, today announced the appointment of Ingram Micro India as a distributor for India.p____p This is a strategic move to boost market penetration across the country, as it will help Trend Micro extend its reach to the growing small and medium business segment in India.p____p Ingram Micro will offer Trend Micro�s full line of antivirus and content filtering solutions, including the InterScan family for Internet gateway protection, ScanMail for e-mail systems, ServerProtect for file servers, OfficeScan for client workstations and PC-cillin for standalone PCs.p____p These applications can be remotely deployed, monitored and maintained across networks from a single console with the Trend Virus Control System (Trend VCS), a central management tool.p____p Frank Leu, managing director for southeast and south Asia of Trend Micro, said, “As the Internet re-defines business procedures, enterprises of all sizes are concerned about data safety and integrity.”p____p According to Internal Data Corporation (IDC), Internet gateway is the highest growth segment of the antivirus market, with a projected compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 43 percent from 1999 to 2004.p____p A recent IDC study named Trend Micro�s InterScan VirusWall as the leader in the fast-growing Internet gateway virus protection market, with global share exceeding 54 percent.p____p P.
