Epson Launches Stylus Photo 1390 With Faster Speed

Epson

Epson launched the Epson Stylus Photo 1390 A3+ printer. The professional dye based inkjet printer is targeted at the demands of design houses, small businesses and photography enthusiasts.

The Epson Stylus Photo 1390 maximises savings for owners by using low cost genuine cartridge and provides added affordability by sporting a six-colour INKdividual cartridge system. This means users only need to replace the colours that have depleted instead of having to change the full set of colour inks all at once.

To offer users best quality prints, the printer is capable of maximum print resolutions of up to 5760 x 1440dpi (dots per inch). This is coupled with Epson s advanced Variable Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT), which dispenses five different ink droplet sizes according to image requirements.

VSDT uses bigger ink droplets to cover large colour blocks with minimal details, while the smallest ink droplets of only 1.5pl are capable of providing unfettered smooth gradation between colour tones needed in gallery quality prints.

The combination of high printing resolution and advanced VSDT, with Epson s advanced micro piezo technology provides consistency print after print.

It prints at speeds of 15 ppm (pages per minute) for both monochrome and colour printouts. When printing A3 glossy full colour prints, the new printer takes just 173 seconds.

In addressing the current needs of users, the Stylus Photo 1390 comes bundled with software for flexibility and ease of use. Users can choose between five colour output modes (Epson vivid, photo enhance, Adobe RGB, Epson standard, and no colour adjustment) to suit the nature of the source material for optimum image quality.

Mostly notably, the Adobe RGB support for SLR class digital printing and RAW file support is a welcome inclusion for users as it supports a wider colour gamut and optimises colours in digital prints for even greater colour accuracy.

Epson s creativity suite provides common photo correction and enhancement tools to easily alter images in areas such as red-eye reduction and cropping.

To facilitate large digital image file transfer via PC and printer, the Stylus Photo 1390 replaces the old USB 2.0 full-speed and parallel ports with the ubiquitous USB2.0 hi-speed port for fast file transfers. Priced at Rs. 22,250 (MRP), the Epson Stylus Pro 1390 is available from May 2007.
