Mumbai: The much awaited Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have finally landed in India. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available from today across Apple resellers along with the traditional retail channel as well as prominent E Commerce portals. Both, the Apple resellers and online portals such as Flipkart, Snapdeal and Amazon have been accepting pre-orders for the new iPhones and have promised to deliver the phones on the launch date itself.
It is to be noted that Flipkart is the official online retailer for Apple. Redington, Rashi Peripherals, Ingram Micro and Beetel Teletech are the offline distributors of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Ingram Micro India will be offering offer iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, across over 200 retail locations across India. Whereas, Redington India will distribute the handsets through 3,000 retail locations across the country. Rashi Peripherals distribute the iPhones across its 1,000 retail locations. The Gurgaon headquartered Beetel Teletech will distribute the products, in its 2000 retail locations spread across across north and east India.

Considering the current market condition and the poor sales of iPhone SE in India, Apple is pushing for a uniform pricing policy for both the online and brick and mortar marketplaces. However, Company’s major distributors have not disclosed the prices for the offline sale. The company has also proposed the launch of an Apple store in the country. Apple’s rival Samsung Electronics was the first to move to uniform pricing across offline and online stores.
India is the next big growth destination for Apple after China and the company is betting big on both the online and offline marketplaces to reignite its business in the highly contested smartphone industry in the country. The company is also intending to sell refurbished iPhones in India to penetrate into mid- market to become the ‘class as well as mass’ product.
