Mumbai: Puresight Systems, the exclusive distributor of US-based iRobot in India has announced the launch of mopping Robot Braava Jet in India. Designed to mop and sweep the floor surface, Braava Jet works with Braava Jet cleaning pads to tackle the range of hard floor cleaning jobs. With this launch the company is aiming at exploring business prospects in the space of home robotic appliances in the country.
Headquartered in Bangalore, Puresight Systems imports iRobots home robots into India and distribute it through its distribution network. The company is looking to hire sub distributors across the States.
Talking exclusively with Channel Times, Asaf Merary, head of Puresight Systems, said that the company is negotiating with the potential distributors in Mumbai and other regions. The company will launch its subsidiary in Chennai in the next 2-3 months. Apart from hiring channel partners, Puresight Systems will also open flagship stores and service centers in all the major cities in the country.
“We are exclusive distributors of iRobot and we are going to distribute the iRobot products across India. We are looking for sub distributors in the country and we are going to open a subsidiary in Chennai in next 2-3 months”, Merary said.
The home robotic appliance space is currently at a nascent phase in India as Indian citizens prefer to avail the services of domestic help instead of robots. However, Merary is quite optimistic about the scope in this segment. At the same time, he said that Braava Jet was not designed to replace maid. “Our intention is not to replace the domestic help but to increase the overall efficiency”, he said.
Braava Jet is available at a price point of Rs 19,900 with the launch offer of Rs 17,900 on the official website of iRobot, at iRobot flagship stores and on the authorised marketplace Amazon. The company has service center and two retail stores in Bangalore.
