Ramboll, the Danish multi-disciplinary engineering, design and consultancy giant, launched a brand new Engineering Centre in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, to boost its telecom business both in India and other markets. The new Hydrabad facility was inaugurated by Soren Holm Johansen, Ramboll’s Group Executive Director for Markets and Global Practices.
Ramboll’s telecom services range from tower solutions including design, smart site, rapid deployment, camouflaged and individual solutions, tower reverse engineering (TLVA), software engineering services to radio frequency and electromagnetic field related services. Along with this, Ramboll will also provide its engineering and design expertise in transport and planning & urban design sector from its Hyderabad centre.
While addressing the media post the inauguration of the new facility in Hyderabad, Soren said, “India is a key market for us and we will continue to make strategic technological infrastructure investments and pick top engineering talent in India,” said Soren.
Soren believes that India will contribute significantly to its global growth ambitions: “The new Hyderabad engineering and design centre is the testimony of our commitment to grow our presence in India. In the telecom sector, as the largest towers, masts and monopoles providers, our objective is to further consolidate and maintain leadership in markets worldwide including India.”
Pawan Maini, Managing Director, Ramboll India and Ramboll Engineering Centre said, “Having the design and engineering centre in Hyderabad adds tremendous strength to our research, development and innovation to serve our clients more efficiently. Some of the most notable projects in Hyderabad include structural design consultancy for Amazon Headquarters and a ridership study for Hyderabad Metro Rail.”
“2015 was a good year for Ramboll India as we clocked revenue of around INR 1,600 million. We are bullish on the Indian market and confident to achieve the mark of INR 2,500 million by 2018,” Pawan said.
“Our journey in India over the last 18 years has been remarkable. We have grown organically and also inorganically by acquiring companies like Whitbybird, IMIsoft, and Gifford and are further looking at joining hands with like-minded companies in the area of Rail, Planning & Urban Design, MEP, Project Management and Structures,” said Pawan.
Pankaj Sachdeva, Telecom Director, Ramboll India said, “The engineering centre in Hyderabad will further strengthen our sales and marketing teams to maintain our leadership position in the global market.”
While elaborating about its growth acceleration, Pankaj said Ramboll is a pioneer in the tower loading validation analysis (TLVA) services and has undertaken these activities for major industry players like Indus Towers, VIOM and Bharti Infratel. “For other telecom solutions, Ramboll’s key clients include Reliance Jio, Indus Towers, Bharti Infratel, American Tower Corporation, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea among others. A lot of work behind the new telecom offerings that Ramboll provides globally will be done in Hyderabad by the dedicated teams of local engineers,” added Pankaj.
A few other promising projects undertaken by Ramboll India include the design consultancy services for the Eastern Peripheral Expressway around Delhi and a mega project to supply tubular towers to Reliance Jio.
“Ramboll remains focused and upbeat to respond to the rapidly evolving markets, as we begin to realize incremental growth in our business especially in this part of the world,” Soren said.
