ASIRT Tech Day Focuses On Ransomware, Service Support

Mumbai: Ransomware is currently the most talked of topic in the channel community. In a bid to educate channel partners on the ransomware threat, Mumbai based Association of System Integrators and Retailers in Technology (ASIRT) recently organized its flagship event ‘Tech Day’ in Mumbai. Net Protector Anti-virus (NPAV), the Gold sponsored of the event, presented its core endpoint security solutions to ASIRT partners.

Sumeet Kela, Director, Business Development, at NPAV, unveiled the new offerings in the Total Security and Endpoint security range of products. The company also introduced a new ‘Z’ Security range of security solutions, designed especially, for VIP customers.
“All our products are certified by reputed international agencies and we are confident that our offerings give a highest level of protection against ransomware and other security threats”, Kela said.

NPAV has recently announced a ‘Ransomware challenge’, wherein the company has given a challenge to compensate the entire ransom of NPAV customers, who are hit by any known ransomware attack. Kela reiterated NPAV’s commitment towards the challenge, claiming that no customer who is using NPAV end point protection has been hit by ransomware.

Pune based NPAV, is one of the fastest growing anti-virus companies in India in terms of number of installations. The company, which so far focused on the consumer line of business, is slowly entering into the SMB space. Creative Peripherals is a national distributor of NPAV, whereas, the company has regional distributors in major metros and states.

Another co-sponsor of the Tech Day, Lenovo showcased its enterprise line of offerings in the event.
Talking about its strong service support to customers and channel partners, Ramanathan Srinivasan, Head, Service Engagement, Enterprise Segment, Lenovo, explained company’s service support mechanism for partners and their customers.

“Our service support strategy is based on the three key pillars: call center support, seamless availability of hardware parts at a wide network of distribution centers across the regions and field service. We encourage our partners to go through an email route for speedy response and better engagement”, Srinivasan said.

We offer services to around 1400 pin codes and we have a wide network of service partners across the country”, he added.
Post the sponsors’ presentations, there was an inspiring session by Chetan Shah, founder member and former Chairman of ASIRT.

Shah, explained his incredible 15,000 kilometers bicycle journey from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh and his learning from a highly challenging and risky task. He appealed all the ASIRT members to pursue their passion by decentralizing the authorities in their respective businesses.

Lastly, Taiwanese networking and solution provider of routers and switches, Edimax announced their sponsorship to ASIRT Tech Day. The knowledge packed event was attended by around 60 SI partners.
