HP Partners with ISVs in India

HP

Hewlett Packard (HP) India has announced its new initiatives to support the Independent Software Vendors (ISV) in India to boost their growth and innovation.

The company has announced the ESS ISV Programme Charter at the HP Technology Partner Summit 2009 held at Bangalore for the first time in India. With this initiative, HP hopes to develop a relation with the Indian ISVs at various levels and engage relevant HP teams with them. HP feels this will help drive their platform certification and enablement requirements.

The programme is aimed at creating a joint go-to-market with ISVs, and driving Funnel Development and reviews processes with large and matured ISVs. This will reportedly help ISVs work closely with HP’s vertical and regional sales on specific end customer opportunities. Application availability, differentiation, solution creation, and collateral would be some of the key features under the technology enablement umbrella.

Faisal Paul, Head (ESS – Marketing and ISV Programme), HP India, said, “During the downturn ISVs are asking for collaboration from HP to enable them grow their revenues, profits, customer loyalty and express value add. We want to treat ISVs as our partners, and are looking to provide value at the entire life cycle development.”

The company is building HP platforms and solutions preference within ISV teams and opportunities. HP plans to work closely with the HP verticals and regional sales on specific – large and complex end customer ISV opportunities. This would bring incremental business for HP ESS in 2009 and beyond.

Talking about the Indian scenario, Shantanu Ghose, Country Head (Business Critical Servers, Technology Solutions Group), HP India said, “India is important to HP’s overall portfolio. Majority of work happens from India and huge endorsements for Indian software developers come from US and Japan.”

The company would organize technology workshops for key large ISV’s, provide market data and Information, host the HPUX Developer Forum, and also launch website hosting & quarterly ISV newsletter.
