Delta Power
  1. Mumbai: Delta Power Solutions, part of the USD 7.5 billion Delta Group recently announced the appointment of Ingram Micro as its authorized distributor for power solutions in India. The partnership aims to streamline and channelize the indirect business of the company and expand its reach across the regions.

Ingram Micro will distribute Delta’s UPS systems, Data Center Infrastructure range, and Telecom Power solutions through its wide reseller network in the country.

Delta Power Solutions is one of the largest global power management solutions company having a strong presence in India. Its offerings include power management solutions, telecom power, industrial automation, solar power, display solutions, networking and components. The company, which was earlier largely focused on the enterprise business, now intends to scale up through the indirect channels.

Speaking exclusively with Channel Times, Dalip Sharma, Managing Director, Delta Electronics India, highlighted the significance of the MoU with Ingram Micro. “Several government initiatives such as Digital India and huge investments in the infrastructural projects are fuelling the growth of the power industry. This creates a very compelling opportunity for us. We want to make sure that we are not missing on any growth opportunity.

The inclusive growth is not possible without a strong channel ecosystem in place. We consider Ingram Micro a right distributor to spread our channel reach across the regions”, Sharma said.

Talking about the significance of the partnership, Sanjay Achawal, Executive Director at Ingram Micro said that the partnership would enhance Ingram’s offering to partners so that they can offer a comprehensive portfolio of solutions to the data center customers.

“We already have more than 18,000 reseller partners in place. We will closely work with Delta Power Solutions to frame the structure of the channel programs and trainings for partners,” Achawal said.

Delta Power Solutions currently has around 60 enterprise partners in India. The company intends to increase the number up to 1000 partners in the next three years. Talking about the unique value proposition to the channel partners, Rohit Datta, National Head for Channel Sales, said that strong service support and better ROI are the two major offerings from the company to the partners.

“We are currently targeting partners focused into the server, cabling, power and value added business. We are targeting sectors such as medical, education and banking through channel partners. Unlike servers and storage, power domain gives competitive margins to partners with better ROI. We have a very strong service network to support our indirect sales arm. We are in the process of finalizing channel incentive programs for them with the help of our distributor,” Datta said.

Delta Power Solutions is also bullish over the government’s Make in India initiative. The company recently commissioned its third factory in Tamil Nadu. Sharma said that the leadership is committed to create over 20000 jobs out of TN factory in next 5-10 years. Apart from UPS, Delta Power Solutions has a strong presence in Telecom, Industrial Automation and Robotics and Solar invertors.
