TRAI today issued a consultation paper to explore framework for facility of making calls using internet application on mobile and landline numbers. At present, internet service providers (ISPs) can provide internet telephony from personal computer to personal computer. Telcos Demand Review Of TRAI’s Order On Data Pricing

Citing the violation of licence conditions, telecom companies have demanded an urgent review of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) order barring discriminatory pricing of data services. Telcos have maintained that a clause that exempts products offered over closed electronic communication networks (CECNs), or intranet, violates licence conditions. Telcos Revamp Infrastructure To End Call Drop Menace

The operator community has come up with a 100-day plan in this regard, which will include setting up of additional 60,000 towers across the country along with leveraging the latest network technology for an enhanced consumer experience.
