TAIT, a premier association of IT entrepreneurs and retailers recently organized a Knowledge Series in Mumbai that was attended by select traders, channel partners and IT distributors, discussed innovative business opportunities. The key highlight of the session was a motivational talk on innovative entrepreneurship, besides other interesting and relevant discussions and offerings.
The Knowledge series began with an exciting presentation by Mohit Motwani of S.K. Robotics who demonstrated their unique product line of Virtual Presence Robots (VPR) to audiences.
Highlighting the unique properties of the product, Motwani shared the various applications of the Virtual Presence Robot that primarily facilitates a person to be virtually ‘present’ at one place of choice, despite being miles away, physically. In today’s tech-enabled world, travelling for long hours to be physically present, can not only be tiring but also counter-productive. The Virtual Presence Robot addresses this issue by facilitating virtual presence meetings, interactions, and experiences. Among the many attributes of the VPR, the robots come with features like anti-collision, self-charging and motion sensors etc.
Motwani said, “Having been a member of TAIT for the past few months, we find this to be the right mix of IT professionals who not only understand the technological implications but are also instrumental in creating commercial value for our product. We are already working with some members who have introduced us to their clients. Today, as part of the knowledge series, we wanted to formally present the VPR – one of our most passionate product so far. We are grateful for the opportunity to present our creation and hope to explore further partnership opportunities.”
Apart from the VPR, S.K. Robotics LLP has also created award-winning, specialised Robots for cleaning, as part of the ‘Swatch Bharat Campaign’ and humanoids and robots for information display and receptionist roles, all of which have received a good response, especially for the specialised applications in Hospitality, Corporate and many other segments.

About 10-15 members were invited, one by one, to take the podium and introduce themselves, share their background and talk about their business offerings, giving fellow members a peek into their business expertise and open possible opportunities to network and collaborate. Needless to say, this activity was very enthusiastically received as members interacted with each other and exchanged coordinates.
The event then moved on to the coveted talk of the evening, “Let’s Work It Out – Business Beyond IT”, a motivational talk by Sohel Kazani on exploring newer business horizons for growth. Mr Kazani, a prolific speaker and a respected member of the governing council of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, comes from a well-known background of logistics and custom clearance agents who had also ventured in the IT industry with Miracle Digital in 2012.
Kazani is a passionate innovator who believes in thinking out of the box and transforming businesses, and through his talk, he shared his learning from his professional ventures, from being a C.A Finals student to an employee of a company in crisis, to managing his family business of import-export and customs clearance to following his passion for IT with Miracle Digital. Also sharing his insights into creative thinking for business, he highlighted his strategy to start S3 cabs – yet another venture that was a direct competition to Ola and Uber, and how it worked on cutting competition without actually trying.
Kazani added, “The current scenario in IT today, from the entrepreneur point of view, needs to focus on and adopt specialization. IT Entrepreneurs and businessmen need to observe and pick an area to specialize in so they can provide products and services that are more customized and in tune with a specific industry and its functional needs. There is a lot of shift happening in the industry and a platform like TAIT needs to guide its members to explore opportunities with potential growth. Technology, as it is today, is bound to keep evolving exponentially and comfort and productivity will be the key to success”
Speaking about the purpose of this event,Ajay Parekh, General Secretary, TAIT, said, “The objective behind inviting a speaker like Kazani was to offer our members a new dimension of thinking and to encourage them to be creative in dealing with business problems. Since he has already been in IT and has also ventured out to other sectors, he can provide members with a holistic view of how all industries are coming in terms with changing technologies.”
He added, “There are several members here who have been in the industry for more than 25 years now and are currently facing challenging business prospects, thanks to the changing dynamics of the industry. At TAIT, we aim at using the knowledge series platform to help members transform their businesses and guide them to migrate in this environment with a shift in technology.”
The eventful evening ended on a high note with a networking dinner, as members interacted with each other, sharing their enthusiasm with renewed motivation.
