TCL 560 Foreys Into Indian Smartphone Market

Chinese electronics manufacturer TCL Corporation has entered into the Indian market with the TCL 560 which comes with an eye-biometric verification feature. The device, which is priced at INR 7,999, comes up against the Lenovo Vibe P1m, Coolpad Note 3 Lite and Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime.

The TCL 560 has a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, with a quad-core processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera with 84.4 degree wide viewing angle. The display provides plenty of area to watch movies, play games, et al.The 4GLTE-enabled device packs 2500mAh battery, which lasts for a day under moderate usage. The device has 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB using a micro-SD card. The built-in ‘Xender File Transfer’ app allows users to transfer files between cross-platform devices without the use of Internet and even works faster than Bluetooth. There is also the option of 5GB of cloud storage with TCL cloud.

The phone has In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, which delivers good brightness and contrast levels and wide viewing angles. It also offers an in-built Kindle app for book lovers- always an advantage.

It is the only smartphone in its price range to have an iris-based “EyeVerify” unlock feature, and run on Android Marshmallow OS. While this means that nobody can unlock the device without the user’s knowledge, it may also become cumbersome with constant having to use it. The finger-print scanner is far more convenient, especially in crowd or meetings.

With its curved design and elegant glossy metal finish on the back, the phone combines looks and design, under an eminently affordable price tag.
