he week brought some of the crucial announcements in the channel space. The newly formed Dell EMC has named Anil Sethi as a Channel chief of India business. Sethi, who has been the face of Dell’s indirect business in the country, will focus on unifying each legacy company’s partner programs.

While Anil Sethi will be heading the channel business of Dell EMC, Intel has hired Ricardo Moreno, a 16-year Cisco channel veteran, as a new vice president of channel sales. Moreno will be in charge of tightening the focus on channel resources and training strategies from a global perspective.

In yet another development, Dell Boomi, a business unit of Dell, has appointed David Tavolaro as a global channel chief who will focus on building the company’s growing global partner ecosystem.

Canon, which has recently completed its 20th anniversary in India and has announced major expansion plans around the channel ecosystem. New product launches and foray into new verticals will be the major focus areas for the company in India in 2017.

On the distribution front, Strontium Technology has partnered with Supertron Electronics in India. With this tie-up, Strontium aims to expand its market presence in India for its memory and non-memory products. While Strontium Technology is exploring offline channel path for expansion, HP and Redington India has announced the launch of India’s first Center of Excellence in Chennai.

Anil Sethi has been appointed the new Channel leader for Dell EMC India. For the Indian market, Sethi will play a critical role in unifying each legacy company’s partner programs. Intel has reportedly hired Ricardo Moreno, a 16-year Cisco channel veteran, as a new vice president of channel sales, the latest in a number of executive channel shifts over the past few months.
