Noida, Dec 5: Software giant Adobe India has formally announced the stoppage of commercial sale of Creative Suite 6, which is a perpetual license of the software from December 2, said a senior official of the company.
The company has recently issued a formal communication to all its partners saying that “Since the launch of the Adobe Creative Cloud earlier this year, a majority of customers in India have opted for Creative Cloud membership over the earlier Creative Suite licenses.
“In fact over 90 percent of our customers in India are opting for the Creative Cloud option over our perpetual CS6 offering In line with this change in customer preferences, Adobe has decided to discontinue offering CS6 commercial licenses under CLP (cumulative licensing program) and TLP (transactional licensing program) in India starting December 2, 2013,” the communication said.
The company is now encouraging its Small and Medium Business customers to consider Creative Cloud for teams through our Value Incentive Plan (VIP) and our Enterprise Customers to consider Creative Cloud for enterprises through our Enterprise Term License Agreement (ETLA).
With Adobe Creative Cloud, customers will have access to all the latest desktop apps, plus all services and business features they need. In addition, the Creative Cloud Packager and the Admin Console will make it easier for users to control and manage application deployment and stay in compliance.
“With this change in licensing, the company has also revised the partner program for FY14 making it more lucrative for our channel partners and resellers in the country. This decision was formally communicated to our Channel partners and the overall reaction from the channel community has been very positive and encouraging”, said Umang Bedi, Managing Director, Sales and Marketing, South Asia, Adobe.
Adobe Systems has officially announced discontinuation of its boxed version of Creative Suite and Acrobat since April 30, 2013 globally. Henceforth, Adobe was focusing on Creative Cloud, a subscription based collection of Adobe’s creative products.
This major transformation enabled the company to become one of the leading cloud based software vendors, unlike software companies who are still contemplating to move on to the cloud. Adobe introduced its Creative Cloud in India in the month of March with the launch of Creative Cloud for team; the company also launched Creative Cloud for individuals through its Adobe online stores.
