Mumbai: In the era of digitization, it is very significant for channel partners to actively leverage social media and other digital means to enhance business network. However, there is still a large chunk of partners who are not utilizing the strengths of social media for their business promotions. In a bid to educate its SI partners on the efficient use of digital business platforms, Mumbai based Association of System Integrators & Retailers in Technology (ASIRT), has rolled out a “Digital Push” project.
Under the initiatives, the association will bring all the partners on a digital platform and also provide them training to effectively utilize professional networking sites such as Linkedin. The association will also launch its new mobile app which will provide members latest updates in the industry.
ASIRT recently announced the new managing committee. Interestingly, this time some new faces from other associations have come on board, while some existing members have stepped down. As per memorandum, Arvind Singh has re-elected as the president and Limesh Parekh is elevated as secretary, while Tushar Shah continues as the treasurer. Pankaj Shah who served as secretary is now the vice chairman on ASIRT board. Kshitij Kotak has retained his position as a chairman.

ASIRT has brought some strategic partners from ISODA on board. Hiten Shah, Vimesh Avlani, Sujit Uchil and Nityanand Shetty from ISODA have joined ASIRT. Chetan Shah, founder chairman of the association, Paresh Shah, Pravin Rege and Deepak Chadha, longest serving members of the board will not held any office in the association.
“As an association, ASIRT has been in continuous pursuit of bringing profitability to the industry that was once reeling under price wars in 2012. We have come a long way from that precarious situation that threatened our existence. This year, you would see ASIRT working on getting more profits for our members and not just profitability”, said Kshitij Kotak, chairman of ASIRT.
The association last year had announced to start new chapters in other regions of the country. However, it seems that it has dropped out the plan. Instead of starting new chapters, ASIRT will focus on enhancing collaboration with other major IT associations.
“If you go beyond certain territory, the mindset of people changes. Right now we are focusing on enhancing our business relations with other associations. We will continue to focus on knowledge series such as TechEdge Day and Tech days”, said Arvind Singh, president of ASIRT.
Singh said that the managing committee has listed out specific subjects which will be covered in the upcoming Tech day event. “System integrators, Solution providers, AMC service vendors, retailers and even marginal resellers will be joining ASIRT this year and we are going to witness a rush in membership this year”, he said.
The association currently have 200 plus members, who largely operates in Mumbai and suburban areas.
