In conversation with Channel Times Pankaj Jain, Co founder, Erus IT shares channel plans and market scenario of Antivirus industry

Tell us about your business model?
We have multiple products and we deal through our channel partners across India. We are committed to give best product with maximum margin to our channel partners. Also we enable them with tools and tricks through product training and update on various technology plus competitive advantage.
Through various innovative marketing and pricing model, we are getting great response from resellers and endusers.

Since Erus IT is new in Anti Virus Industry what are the challenges it is facing?
Through various innovative marketing and pricing model, we are getting great response from resellers and endusers. Also with over 20 years experience in antivirus industry, we have deep market understanding, long term relationship with channel partners. Challenges are always there with all business, but we do enjoy the way we work with support of our team and resellers.

What are your channel plans.?
Right now we are expanding our channel base across India. We are giving them technical training, product training, enabling them with latest technology and more. Soon we would start roadshows and seminars in various cities. Also in near future we will announce various channel incentive programs for short and long term commitments.

What are the challenges Channel distributors face while conveying the products to the customers?
In Antivirus, there are already many players in market, having different feature with price range from sub Rs 100 to above Rs 2000. Clients are also confused which product to buy which would give them best security & features at best price. Channel partners also come across new brand every now and then. Its difficult for them to switch brands frequently. Channel partners need to see the company’s history, channel policy, product features, support system & margins. If all these factors are favourable, then there shouldn’t be any issue in shaking hand with such brand. Once reseller is confident on vendor, he will find it easy to pitch to customer too with confidence.

How is the channel market scenario as far as the Anti Virus industry is concerned?
There is lot of international and local antivirus players in India. Its tough competition. But brand and distributor with right channel policies and support system will be the leader. I am confident that at “Erus IT”, we have proven track record of providing best products with most channel friendly policies and innovative marketing strategies. We always have been enjoying selling security solutions to consumers and enterprises through channel partners.

Recently you have tied up with FSecure. Tell us more about the partnership.
Erus IT is only premium partner for F-Secure consumer product in India, also we are West India distributor for F-Secure enterprise products. Recently we signed up with GData to become National Exclusive Distributor.F-Secure, has appointed Mumbai based Erus IT Private Limited as its sub distribution partner across the western and central region of the country including Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Erus IT will be the official distribution partner for F-Secure Small Business products and services, including anti-malware security solutions among others.

The partnership with F Secure to drive the SMB B2B market in the Western Region. Our geographical reach and long term association with the channel network and resellers will help F-Secure, to tap the existing market in a better manner. Erus IT is also looking to capture newer markets and expand the existing regional sales force in order to understand the specific market requirements and interact with clients in a better manner.

The Indian cyber security market is characterized by increasing expectations of the channel partners, cut-throat competition among players and price-sensitive dynamics. After intense analysis of the market requirement, competition offerings, resellers’ pain area, end user demands, both the companies have jointly developed aggressive price models and relevant SKUs, tailor-made for the Indian ecosystem.

How the partnership will enhance in your business model?
Antivirus is foundation of Erus business. Tieup with F-Secure and GData is definitely a booster for us. This will give us reach across India where we can leverage on our existing relationships.

Why Channel Partners across India are finding it difficult to get the right funds at the right time ? How can this problems be solved?
Its not just about funds. Its more about business model and planning. With right product, intentions, planning, payments etc, any business will be successful. Honesty must be the key for long term business. As business works on relationship.
