Kolkata: Facilis Technology, a global supplier of shared storage solutions for collaborative media production networks is bullish on APAC market, including India. In India, Facilis announced the completion of a project that sees its TerraBlock shared storage system supporting a network of eight Avid edit suites, establishing non-linear workflows at Indian international broadcaster, Powervision TV, which is a Satellite TV Channel with its own studio complex based in Tiruvalla in Kerala. The Powervision Channel is known for its Christian devotional programs, which are broadcast 24/7 in over 100 countries throughout Asia, Australia, Europe and America.
The company said, for this project, it worked closely with its primary Indian channel partner, Wecom Global, which was recruited by Powervision TV to consult and assist with the channel’s transition from tape to file-based workflows.
The objective behind this infrastructure upgrade has been a need for increased speed, efficiency and productivity within their post-production and producer approval procedures, said Powervision.
Wecom Global has been a Facilis authorized reseller for six years in India, the company has installed TerraBlock systems throughout the Middle East region, including at UAE state-owned broadcaster, Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI).

Facilis will focus on more asset tracking, backup and archive solutions for collaborative media production networks expanding its reach to film, television, education and audiovisual markets. The company further announced strong growth in sales throughout APAC region, and has worked on customer projects in Philippines and Singapore, with the active support of channel partners, including local authorized resellers.
