Satcom Infotech’s Super Women on International Women’s Day: #StayStrong, #ChooseToChallenge

 International Women’s Day is celebrated with much vigour across the globe every March 8. It is a momentous occasion to uphold gender equality, appreciate the greatness of womankind and its enormous achievements. The theme for Women’s Day 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. The clarion call is for the fairer sex to rise up against gender stereotypes and bias to maintain equality.

On this day, we decided to speak to some female employees of Satcom Infotech – an equal opportunity employer – on their roles, gender equality and thoughts on Women’s Day. The Mumbai-headquartered IT security solutions company is well represented by multi-faceted ladies across all its divisions and branch offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Pune.

Our company has a great team culture and inclusive management that supports all-woman employees. The work environment is conducive to make every one of us confident to face and overcome any challenges.

We are strong physically, emotionally and intellectually to carry out all tasks that men do. In a broader sense, women will become more powerful than men across several industry domains in the future.

International Women’s Day is the moment when women are cherished for their social, economic and innumerous other achievements. The modern woman has broken the clutches of oppression and achieved as much as men, which calls for celebrations.

Many fields that used to be male-dominated have accommodated a lot of women at top positions. Our organization gives everyone equal opportunity, irrespective of gender. I am very happy and proud to be a woman.

Every woman is unique. We come across many in our daily lives – be it vegetable vendors or roadside dwellers, they are also super-achievers, and not just those who is in the limelight. I am supremely proud to be a woman.

Our efforts are recognized and contribution towards the work is appreciated in our company. We are given equal opportunity to understand market needs and people.

Women professionals employed in traditionally male-dominated fields face several hurdles. I also did when I started my career in IT security. If women succeed, their co-workers – both male and female –  unfairly brand them as unsociable and difficult to work with. But nowadays, people are more understanding about the strengths of women.

It is advantageous to be a woman working in the security industry today. If more women chose tech professions, they would absolutely be on top of the game. I, personally, get my due recognition and support from our management to excel in my work. ‘A challenged world is an alert world’, and from challenge comes change. Therefore, challenge everyone around you to take action for gender parity.
