Mumbai: Avnet, a leading global technology distributor, today announced that it has appointed Sundaresan K as country general manager of Avnet Technology Solutions, India. In this role, Sundaresan will be responsible for developing and executing the business strategy in country, with a focus on driving profitable growth and enhancing Avnet’s solutions specialist offerings for the local market.
He is based in Mumbai and reports directly to William Chu, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific. Sundaresan succeeds Naresh Desai who now leads Avnet’s regional Cloud, Security and Enterprise Networking, and Mobility business units.
Sundaresan is an accomplished leader, having held management roles within high-growth organizations including executive vice president, software and security at Redington India, and manager, finance and operations at Bhavani Impex Kuala Lumpur.
“Sundaresan brings with him a solid background in both technology and finance, as well as deep knowledge of the Indian market,” said William Chu, president, Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific.
“As we continue to enhance our next-generation solution offerings, Sundaresan will be instrumental in leading the Indian team drive these high-growth opportunities for our local partners and suppliers”, he added.

Global IT distributor Tech Data Corporation recently announced the acquisition of Avnet’s technology services business for $2.6 billion. The deal is expected to geographical coverage and large scale of business to Tech Data.
