The week was eventful for IT channel. Mumbai based IT association of system integrators and retailers, ASIRT has recently conducted its monthly event, TechDay. Another association, The Information Technology Traders Association [ITTA] Pondicherry has elected its new office bearers for 2017-18 at a recently private event.

Also, as the day approaches for GST implementation, this week that TAIT had come forward and organised an workshop to ease the worry of IT channel in this regard.

We have been seeing it since years that channel partners whether big or small has been pivotal for driving vendor’s business. There were other big announcements. Inflow announced a new distribution agreement with Unify, the Atos brand for communications software and services. HCL Infosystems has announced that it has achieved the Oracle Platinum Partner status in Oracle Partner Network (OPN).

The week also saw some important appointments. Nasscom elected Jaimin Shah, MD & CEO of Ahmedabad-based Dev Information Technology Ltd, as the Chairman of their Domestic Council for 2017-2019.

By attaining Platinum level membership, Oracle has recognized HCL Infosystems and its subsidiaries – HCL Services (HCL Infosystems’ Domestic IT services arm) and HCL Insys Pte Ltd. Dev IT’s Jaimin Shah To Head Nasscom’s Domestic Council
India’s apex IT body, Nasscom has elected Jaimin Shah, MD & CEO of Ahmedabad-based Dev Information Technology Ltd, as the Chairman of their Domestic Council for 2017-2019. He becomes the youngest and also first Gujarati to be elected to the post of Chairman of a council at Nasscom. Read More

SonicWall Bets Big On Channel Initiatives
Cyber security provider SonicWall has announced that over 10,000 partners have already registered as SonicWall resellers, and the SecureFirst Partner Program is now open to partners in Asia Pacific.
SonicWall also introduced two initiatives designed to help these partners secure customers in the shifting cyber arms race – SonicWall University to train partners on cybersecurity, and new global marketing programs and incentives to help the SonicWall channel deliver their cybersecurity solutions and services for small and medium-size businesses. Read More

Syntech Technology Pvt. Ltd., the Indian partner to Gionee’s overseas arm, today announced its official corporate name change to Gionee India, for increased synergy between the corporate and the brand name. Inflow has announced a new distribution agreement with Unify, the Atos brand for communications software and services. With this distribution agreement, Inflow Technologies is authorized to distribute and support Unify’s entire portfolio, including OpenScape and the soon-to-be-launched-in-India Circuit. The OpenScape portfolio can scale from voice to UC and grow to 100,000 users. The combination of Inflow with OpenScape will provide a winning combination of great selling opportunities for partners. Read More

Xerox India has named announced Compuage Infocom, one of India’s leading IT and telecom distribution house as its new national distributor partner for Xerox range of office products and Supplies.
